SOLWAY & TYNE TEXEL BREEDERS CLUB FEMALE SHOW & SALE

The Reserve Champion of the pre-sale show secured the leading price of 2000gns at the Solway & Tyne Texel Breeders Club Female show and sale held on Friday 5th January.
The first gimmer from the Partridge Nest pen from Eamonn Vaughan was the entry which sold for the top price of 2000gns. She is a daughter to Teiglum Cinnamon and her mother is sired by Garngour Craftsman. She sold in lamb to Auldhouseburn Ghost and was purchased by Glen Wilson to join his Rule Water flock, based near Hawick.
Following at 1400gns was the pre-sale Champion entry shown by Alan Blackwood of the Auldhouseburn flock. This gimmer, by Auldhouseburn Expression, is a Sportsmans daughter by Garngour Alabama and in lamb to Haymount Fan Dabi Dozi. She now joins the Brookhill flock of Alex & Gemma Brown, Darwin, Lancs.
Also from the Auldhouseburn pen, was the next price at 900gns. This was also an Expression daughter out of a Knap Vicious Sid bred dam and in lamb to the Haymout ram. She was knocked down to AJ Carter of the Millcroft flock.
The sale also included the Dispersal of the Callerton flock on behalf of MD Sym. Topping this consignment at 1000gns was the first entry to the sale ring, a ewe sired by Glenway Ace of Diamonds and out of a Teiglum Rembrandt daughter. She sold in lamb to Hexel Funky Pigeon to JR Lawson for his Crescent flock, Newcastle upon Tyne.
Following at 900gns was another ewe, this time sired by Teilo Bendigeidfran and out of a daughter by Ettrick Yorkie and in lamb to the Hexel ram again. This ewe sold to J Pritchard for their Evistones flock, Rochester.
Sale Averages: Club – 8 shearling gimmers £997.50, 1 ewe lamb; Callerton Dispersal Sale 18 Ewes £512.75, 6 shearling gimmers £434.00.
