MILNBANK HUNTER HITS 30,000GNS AT CARLISLE

Robbie Wilson’s Milnbank flock took the day’s top call at the Solway and Tyne Texel Club’s sale, Carlisle, when selling for 30,000gns.

Sired by the 30,000gns Clanfield Golden and out of a dam by Cowal Bucking Bronco, this one sold to Messrs Boden and Davies, Cheshire, for their Sportsmans and Mellor Vale flocks.

Second best at 22,000gns was Kerr Jarvie’s Duncryne Hakuna Matata. He’s a Hexel Geronimo II son out of a dam by Rhaeadr Equlizer. This one sold in a three-way split to Robert Cockburn, Knap, Gordon Gray, Ettrick and Sandy Hunter, Wedderburn.

Following that came a trio of 10,000gns calls, the first of which was for Uppermill Highway Express from David McKerrow. This is another by the 30,000gns Clanfield Golden and is out of a dam by Ettrick Earthquake and sold with a top 1% texelplus index, again heading home with Messrs Boden and Davies.

The second and third 10,000gns calls saw Messrs Boden and Davies recoup some of their outlay. Their first at this price was Sportsmans Honor Roll, a son of the 170,000gns Knap Grumpy out of a dam by Procters El Presidente, with this one bought in a shared deal by Alan Blackwood, Auldhouseburn and John Forsyth, Glenside.

Third at this level was Sportsmans Hitman, a Castlecairn Doodlebug son out of a dam by Garngour Craftsman. This full ET brother to the 75,000gns Sportmans Express sold to James and Ellie Amphlett for their Topwood flock.

Next in line at 9000gns was Tima High Roller from David Gray. Sired by Sadlerhead Fury and out of a dam by Claybury Dunkirk, he has a top 25% texelplus index and was split six ways with shares taken by Bruce Renwick, Castlecairn, Jack Arnott, Haymount, Ben Vernon, Charben, Mike Turner, Okehall, Barney Richardson, Fernyford and Messrs Whitehouse, Derbyshire.

Two then sold at 8000gns, the first of which was Milnbank High Voltage from Robbie Wilson. He’s by Clanfield Golden and out of a dam by Harestone Eldorado and was another shared by Alan Blackwood and John Forsyth.

Second at this price was Richard Wilson’s Eden Valley Hit The Diff. This Knockem Grand Slam son is out of a dam by Knock Yankee and carries a top 5% texelplus index. He was shared by Robert Laird, Cambwell, and William Duthie, Caterthun.

Following that at 6500gns was Robert Evans’ Hope Valley Hannibal an Auldhouseburn Freaky Friday son out of a dam by Usk Vale Eddie and shared three ways by Peter Woof, Stainton, David Houghton, Tophill and the Bradley family, Far Hey.

At the same price was Strathbogie Hannibal Lecter from Jim Innes and family, with this one being by Auldhouseburn Fancy Pants and out of a dam by Cressage Enforcer. From the same family as the £120,000 Strathbogie Gladiator he sold to Mark Ireland, Heys.

 

Shearling rams

 Topping the shearling trade at 12,000gns was Duhonw Golden Balls from Michael James and family, with this Wilodge Ex Factor son being out of a dam by Clinterty Yuga Khan. He was split two-ways by Messrs Dixon and Messrs Scott, both Kirkby Stephen

Second in line at 6000gns was the first prize shearling from the pre-sale show, Loosebeare Gizmo from the Quick family. By the homebred Loosebeare Voomer and out of a dam by Kimbolton Arrow he was bought by Louise Atkins, Plantfield.

Then came a 5200gns call for Yarrow Gladiator from William Douglas. Sired by Allanfauld Director and out of a dam by Knock Deacon he was taken by Messrs Williams Lampeter.

And close behind at 5000gns was Holylee GForce from David Preacher. He’s by Morwood Fast and Furious and out of a dam by Auldhouseburn Billy The Kid and sold in a shared deal to Jonathan Watson, Brijon and Ted Fox, College.

Following that was a 4800gns bid for Douganhill Grand Champion from Douganhill Farms. Sired by Peniel First Class and out of a dam by Claybury Dazzler, he sold to Messrs Johnstone, Crawfordjohn.

 

Females

Leading the females was a 3000gns sale for Mike Turner’s gimmer from the Okehall flock. This was TMO2310721, a Haymount Earth Wind and Fire daughter out of a dam by Charben Babe Magnet, making her a full sister to the 50,000gns Okehall Fireball. She sold to Jordan Green, Drumburn.

Next in line here at 2500gns was another from the same home, TMO2310723. She’s by Rhaeadr Entrepreneur and out of a Haymount Earth Wind and Fire daughter. Buying her were Messrs Scott, Mold.

Then making 2200gns was one from Ketih and Andrew Campbell’s Overburns flock, KOB2315422. She’s by Haymount Foremost and out of an Auldhouseburn-bred dam by Sportsmans A Star and has a top 25% texelplus index. She was the pick of Ryan Roddan, Dashwell.

Messrs Boden and Davies then took 2000gns for BGS2306534 from the Sportsmans flock, with this Rhaeadr First Choice daughter being out of a dam by Seaforde Empire King. She went in a two-way split to Robert Cockburn, Knap and Thomas Muirhead, Ochilmore.

Also, at this money was one from James Porter, Saltcotes, PTJ2300147. She’s by Rhaeadr Flight Officer and out of a dam by Craig Douglas Dancer and sold to Messrs Wharton, Penrith.
